Chris wanted to use his education in environmental science to influence the construction industry here in Asheville.

We take a common sense approach to environmentally responsible building. This means that we don’t necessarily use expensive “green” products to keep our balance with the planet.

We start at the ground level by buying locally when possible, recycling on site, using our materials as  efficiently as possible instead of filling our dumpster.

On top of that, we are always looking for new products that offer minimal impact on our planet.

SIPs Panels

Nemec construction is a local installer of SIP Panels. What are SIPs?  Structural Insulated Panels. These are highly efficient building panel systems.

With SIPs, you have less thermal breaks in construction compared to a conventional stick frame house.  SIP panel construction gives you a more rigid structure and a much better thermal envelope. It also provides a much quicker “dry in” time, meaning your structure will have much less exposure to the elements during the framing stage.  It also provides quicker exteriors framing time.  Not only do SIPs offer a more efficient structure, but they also limit waste. The Panels are computer designed and cut in a factory, so there is little construction waste.

The result is a building system that is extremely strong, energy efficient and cost effective. Building with SIPs will save you time and money.

COREtec Flooring

We love the versatility of this flooring!  It can be used in any room. You can get a warm wood look in wet areas such as the bathroom, laundry room or kitchen with out the worry of potential water damage.

We also love that it is durable…it is commercial rated and has a lifetime warranty when used in a residential application. It is softer and warmer than tile and is made out of recycled materials.

The  innovative core structure, is an extruded core made from recycled wood and bamboo dust, limestone, and virgin PVC.

100% waterproof, so it can be installed in wet areas and will never swell when exposed to water. It is also dimensionally stable; it will not expand or contract under normal conditions.
